The Armstrong County Genealogy Club (ACGC)

  • Our Mission
    The mission of the Armstrong County Genealogy Club (ACGC) is to collect and preserve information and materials of Western Pennsylvania, and particularly Armstrong County, which pertain to family history, and to maintain a fellowship with people of like interest to study and learn more about our ancestors.

  • Meeting Schedule

    • The Armstrong County Genealogy Club's (ACGC's) meetings will resume the first Sunday of March with a research meeting in the Lankerd-Thomas Genealogical Library from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Meetings are held the first sunday of every month, except through the winter. The Armstrong County Genealogy Club (ACGC) holds its meetings in the Carriage House, which is situated adjacent to the McCain House (museum) in the city of Kittanning. There is handicapped access at the side of the building. Parking is available at the rear of the McCain House (museum). The entrance is located at North Grant Avenue. July 2, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Lankerd Thomas Genealogy Library in the Carriage House, 300 N. McKean St. Library open for research. Free to public
    August 6, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Lankerd thomas Gen. Lib. Dick Dougan will speak on DNA Testing for Genealogy. Free to public
    September 3, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Lankerd Thomas Gen. Lib. Denise Garrott will speak to and share her photos of Eastern Woodland Natives. Free to public
    October 1, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Lankerd Thomas Gen. Lib. Ancestor Scrapbooking (not confirmed yet).



  • Research Requests

    • The officers of the genealogy club do not do any genealogy research requests.

  • ACGC Quarterly
    The Quarterly is published each March, June, September, and December. The Quarterly is free to Armstrong County Genealogy Club (ACGC) members and $5.00 for non-members. Back issues are available at $1.00 per issue, plus postage & handling.
